Harvest Moon 3DS: The Tale of Two Towns
« on: May 02, 2012, 03:47:47 AM »

Yes, you read that right. There IS a Harvest Moon game for the 3DS. I bought it today, but I haven't played it yet.  You get to choose between two different villages, each with their own shops, villagers, and festivals. Take on quests to buld your reputation with both towns, and of course, raise a farm, woo a spouse and start a family. As a Harvest Moon junkie, I'm excited to start a game on it. I think I will use both files, one for one town, and one gender. The other for the opposite. It has co-op play, as well as street pass, tho I don't use the street pass that much now lol.

The back of the game case has the summery for the game as "Years ago, a tunnel connected livestock loving Bluebell Village with the crop growing town of Konohana, but boisterous bickering between the two burgs created a cave in and collapsed the tunnel  Build a bustling farm, befriend villagers, and maybe you can find a way to bring the two towns together again!"

Also, Hikari, if your mom reads this, hide your 3DS!! lol

I just have the character and town set up right now. I need to charge my 3DS, as it always comes back to me in need of charging.

I have completed 1 day so far (I've been working and attempting to clean house) So far, I have completed 3 requests. One you get right off the bat, and it's how you get your hoe, sickle, watering can and first bag of turnip seeds. The reward is a fertilizer. The other 2 are learning how to catch critters and to fish bare handed. The critter catching is just like in Harvest Moon Grande Bazaar, so it's easy. The bare handed fishing is done the same way except you can only do it in the shallow parts of the river. So far, I like the game.

I also need to get a second 3DS. i want to be able to do the coop play.

I had someone tell me that they have heard nothing but bad reviews about it, but I have to say that I'm loving it.  The hardest thing for me is making it to the other town daily to check the message board in it. Missions are important in this game and it gives it a bit of a twist.

Me too. I love it. I thought Grande Bazaar was a bit of a twist for Harvest Moon, but this one definitely wins for me.
