Kouyama Mitsuki is a 12 year old girl who lives with her very strict grandmother and her maid in an old fashioned Japanese house. The reason: Mitsuki has a malignant tumour in her throat. However, surgery is out of the question for Mitsuki, for it threatens to kill her dream of becoming a singer, so she must remain home and be careful not to overexert her body or her voice. One day, everything changes when the Shinigami Combi Negi Ramen arrive bearing news that Mitsuki only has a year to live. This spurs Mitsuki into action, and she rushes desperately to the Seed Records New Artists Audition with Negi Ramen in hot pursuit. Can she achieve her dreams before her year is out, or will the immense odds stacked against her crush her childish ambition?

Someday’s Dreamers

Meet Kikuchi Yume, 18 years old, hailing from Tono City, Iwate Prefecture. A country girl through and through, she’s now facing the biggest trial of her life: the megalopolis of Tokyo. Now, one might inquire as to why a girl would be struggling in vain to hide her Tohoku accent while stumbling blindly through the streets of Tokyo, but there’s a simple explanation: Yume, like quite a few other people around the world, is a mage. To add to all this, her mother, Kikuchi Etsuko, is a renowned mage, giving Yume a lot to live up to. But for now, all she can do is search for Oyamada Masami, the person who will guide and supervise her as she strives to become a skilled mage.

Rough

Yamato Keisuke is a freshman at Eisen Private High School, but he’s already made quite a name for himself as an outstanding swimmer. However, he’s hardly alone at Eisen when it comes to young athletic prodigies. There’s Seki Kazuaki, ranked 3rd Dan in karate; Ogata Takeshi, a baseball player with a legitimate shot for the big leagues; and Ninomiya Ami, a promising young diver. Keisuke and Ami are immediately at odds with each other, as their families hold a grudge that goes back two generations. However, fate seems to be intent on forcing these two together. Seishuu High School has always been a top notch academic school, without any prominent sports teams. However, this year promises to be different, for three athletic superstars are enrolling at the school: Niimi Katsuya (track), Karasawa Susumu (judo), and Kurahashi Eiji (baseball). However, because of a chance meeting with a certain Nakao Yuri at one of Seishuu’s baseball games, Katsuya and Susumu have decided to play baseball, a sport that they have no experience at. To complicate matters, Kurahashi, the saviour of Seishuu baseball, has decided not to join! With the coach’s – Yuri’s father’s – job on the line, can Katsuya and Susumu pull off a miracle, and actually help Seishuu win a game?

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

In the distant future, the great industrial civilizations, finally overtaken by centuries of pollution, corruption, and violence, were destroyed in the holocaust known as the “Seven Days of Fire.” With the decline of civilization, a great poisonous forest known as the “Sea of Corruption” engulfed significant portions of the globe, rendering re-modernization impossible. Nevertheless, over the centuries two significant powers have risen, separated by the Sea of Corruption: Torumekia and Dorok. When war breaks out between these two powers, Torumekia recruits troops from its vassal states, including the Valley of the Wind. Nausicaä, as the Princess of the Valley of the Wind, leads her small contingent to join the army of Kushana, Princess of Torumekia. Little did they know that this conflict would quickly develop into something that would threaten the very existence of humanity.

Maison Ikkoku

Godai Yusaku is just your average ronin, studying for the upcoming university entrance exams. However, his life is greatly complicated by his current habitat and study environment, the infamous Maison Ikkoku. Having acquired a reputation in the neighbourhood for endless partying, the other residents of Maison Ikkoku strive to make Godai’s life a living hell. Just as Godai’s about to pack up and leave, a stroke of good fortune arrives in the form of the beautiful Otonashi Kyoko, who announces that she will be the new apartment manager! Can Godai win the fair lady’s hand, fend off his rambunctious neighbours, and complete his education?

Kodomo no Omocha

Kurata Sana is a rather unique person, no matter how one looks at it. As a girl, her extreme optimism, rash behaviour, and limitless energy set her apart. As an actor, it’s her charm, radiance, and how much she enjoys every role. Recently though, all these attributes, along with Sana, are being put to the test by Hayama Akito, the resident bully of Class 6-3. He drives teachers insane, has all the boys in the palm of his hand, and worst of all, never displays any emotion and barely says a word. Will Sana overcome this challenge? Or will she succumb to Hayama Akito, super jerk?

Katsu!

Satoyama Katsuki is just your average young man currently attending his first year of high school. However, one rainy spring day, his childhood best friend Kawakami Kyouta introduces him – from a distance of course – to a young lady that, against school regulations, is secretly working at a gas station. Kyouta’s research reveals that this Mizutani Katsuki is not only in the same class as the pair, but also that her father runs the famed Mizutani Boxing Gym. In the impetuosity of youth, the pair drop 27,000 yen on a 1 month membership at the Gym, and Satoyama uncovers two revelations. First, that he is connected with Japanese boxing in ways that he never could have imagined, and second, that Mizutani Katsuki detests boxing with a passion.

Kunimi Hiiro and Tachibana Hideo were star members of the district champion Seinan Middle School baseball team. However, while Hideo went to Meiwa Ichi High as a touted prospect, Hiiro was diagnosed with a glass elbow and ordered to stop playing. To distance himself completely from his beloved sport, Hiiro is attending Senkawa High, a school without a baseball team. However, destiny seems to be against him, as he soon finds out that Senkawa indeed has a fledgling baseball club with the pretty Koga Haruka as its manager. To make matters worse, the soccer team that Hiiro’s joined seems intent on humiliating this baseball club in order to lure Haruka away. Faced with a showdown between the arrogant soccer team and Haruka’s baseball club on the diamond, Hiiro once again steps onto the mound, and takes a first step towards Koushien that he once never thought possible.

Dragon Ball

There is a legend that says if all seven Dragon Balls are gathered, the dragon Shenlong can be summoned to grant any wish. Bulma, a young teenage girl who has just recently learned of the story, is so intrigued that she actually begins her own quest to find the Dragon Balls. While searching she runs into (almost quite literally) a strange boy with superhuman strength, a wooden staff, and – most surprisingly – a tail. His name is Son Goku, and to Bulma’s shock and elation, he possesses the 4-Star Dragon Ball. However, Goku is unwilling to give up a precious heirloom from his grandfather, so Bulma suggests that the pair journey together to find the rest of the Dragon Balls. No one could have ever imagined what this fateful meeting would produce…
