Moemi, who he’s head-over-heels in love with, just confessed to him that she likes his best friend, his VCR is broken, and all the girls in school hate him and have saddled him with the world’s worst nickname. To console himself, he stops by a new video store called “Gokuraku” and checks out a video from the Adult section. But then Amano Ai, the star, pops out of his broken VCR to help rescue his love life!

In the year 2003, a comet crashes into the planet, making it habitable. Humanity, always eager for new territory to explore and settle, quickly colonized the planet. Flash forward to the year 2089. A war rages between the two nations of Venus, Aphrodia and Ishtar, over land and natural resources. Ken Seno, a talented young Battle Bike racer, is recruited to the war effort because of his skills with a motorcycle. Then, Matthew Sim Radom, a young cadet in the elite forces who discovers the military is very different from how he thought when he finds the woman he loves at the center of a military conspiracy.

Many years ago, best friends and martial artists Saotome Genma and Tendo Soun promised one another that someday, their children would marry and secure their legacies. Now, Genma has returned from a recent trip to China with his sixteen-year-old son Ranma to meet with Soun’s three daughters to make good on their promise. But the two have recently picked up a slight condition: since a visit to some cursed springs, when splashed with cold water, Ranma turns into a girl, resulting the selection of the boy-hating Tendo Akane as his bride-to-be. Little do they know their troubles are just beginning…

Marmalade Boy

Koishikawa Miki’s parents have always been a little crazy, but this time they’ve gone too far. They were supposed to be out having a romantic vacation in Hawaii, but upon returning, they inform Miki that they will be getting divorced and swapping partners with the Matsuuras, another couple that they met there. To complicate matters, the Matsuuras have a son Miki’s age named Yuu, who’s incredibly cute – but also the biggest jerk Miki has ever met! How can Miki learn to deal with such a messed-up situation?

Momonari Junta suffers from a rather unusual condition: whenever he gets close to a girl or sees one naked, he gets sick and vomits. Then things do a 180 when he meets Aoi Karin, a girl who claims to come from the future. According to Karin, he will soon turn into the Mega-Playboy and impregnate 100 women, causing a severe overpopulation problem…and she’s there to stop that from happening. But then she shoots him with the wrong bullet, causing his transformation to accelerate instead of preventing it…

Anime Expo 2010

This year marked my eighth Anime Expo, the ninth anniversary of the first year I attended, and my eleventh con overall. In these eight years, I have attended and graduated high school and college, worked full-time and supported myself, and most recently, started preparing for a new career as an English teacher in Japan. My anime fandom has waxed and waned several times over, as has my participation in the online community.

Otakon 2007

For yet another year, Baltimore hosted the largest Japanese animation fan convention on the East Coast, Otakon, on July 20th through the 22nd at the Baltimore Convention Center (BCC). The attendance topped 20,000 eager participants for the fourth straight year, a testament to the con’s staying power and the loyalty of the fans. As always, there were many different things to see and experience, ranging from industry panels where companies……..

Anime Expo 2007

July 2007 marked my sixth consecutive Anime Expo (AX), which was an unusual year for several reasons. It was the first time in five years that the con was held at Long Beach Convention Center, rather than the more spacious Anaheim Convention Center, since the Shriners took over the ACC for Fourth of July weekend. It was my first year at AX without my usual convention companion, who is in Germany for the summer.

Otakon 2006: Nana Kitade/MUCC Concert

Between the lengthy commute to and from the hotel, various misadventures with Le Bread‘s car, and more time spent socializing and wandering around Baltimore, I found little time to actually go to any events.
