Following the overwhelming success of Operation “Phantom Flame”, the Abh High Command initiates Operation “Hunter”, designed to consolidate their holdings in their newly conquered territories. As a member of the 4th Hunter Fleet, the Basrogrh arrives at the newly liberated planet Robnasr II, only to be hailed simultaneously by four different people, all of whom claiming to be representatives of the ruling government. Jinto heads down to the planet to meditate negotiations between the four factions, leaving Lafiel to manage other affairs in orbit, just as a civil war breaks out on the surface…

Three years have passed since the invasion of Abh territory by the forces of United Mankind. Jinto and Lafiel are once again reunited aboard the destroyer Basrogrh, as Wing Flyer and Deco-Commander respectively. Just as they are finishing their training, the Abh High Command launches Operation “Phantom Flame” in order to reclaim territories lost to the United Mankind three years ago. Immediately sent to the front, Jinto and Lafiel are caught in an intergalactic conflict together once again. However, this time they will be front line soldiers, responsible not only for themselves, but for the lives of others as well.

Seeing this, the President of Studio Petit has hired Takashimadaira Rei, a veteran producer famous for completing rush jobs on time. However, Takashimadaira’s secret to success is to sacrifice quality for quantity, something that gets on the nerves of an already edgy Shihonmatsu. Can Kuromi keep the peace, finish the three titles on time, and still maintain the studio’s integrity?

Meet Oguro Mikiko (20 years old), a recent graduate of an animation school who is eagerly anticipating her first day of work at Studio Petit. However, the moment she walks in the door, Oppama, the production manager, greets her, gives her a quick tour, dubs her Kuromi-chan, hands her the timetable and critical information for the second episode of “Time Journeys,” and is carted off to the hospital by an ambulance with a stomach ulcer. The bewildered Kuromi is now left to deal with the stoic line director Shihonmatsu, the laid back staging manager Hassaku, and a team of key animators that are as diverse as Canada, but all share one common trait: an utter lack of useful productivity. Can Kuromi finish “Tai Ja 2” on time, or has she bitten off more than she can chew?
