Sakura-Con is a three day convention held in Seattle, Washington on April 18th to the 20th at the Washington State Convention Center.

Cosplayer Spotlight #23: Cute Classy Cosplay

Cute Cosplay Cosplay is comprised of two Louisiana Cosplayers SanctuaryMemories and Oolala Cosplay, selected to compete in the 2014 World Cosplay Summits – USA Finals. The winner of this competition will travel to Japan for the International World Cosplay Summit and compete for America against representatives of the other countries involved in the WCS.

Sakuracon has a lot going for it; it’s in the spring in Seattle, which even when it rains, as it did part of this year, is always nice and mild. It’s very suitable for any type of convention activity, whether it be lugging purchases around or costumes of any type. The neighborhood the convention center and surrounding hotels are in is a fantastic one – I’ve mentioned the Gameworks across the street before, and it remains a favorite after-con activity for many congoers, especially on Thursday night – and there’s no shortage of food or shopping or entertainment.

Cosplayer Spotlight #19: Cat-chan Cosplay

I’m Cat-chan and I’m a cosplayer. I love making costumes and attending cons all over the country! (but mostly in Texas). I am a professional graphic designer by day, specializing in digital design for multi-touch platforms. I am also a bit of a couch potato and love watching TV and reading manga. I have two very frisky cats (Karma and Yourichi) and a wonderful Husband I enjoy spending most of my time with.

Tell us a little about yourself.  My name is Taryn, but I go by Terra or my cosplay alias, Reya Skye. Not to sound like a hipster, but I’m from a small town you’ve probably never heard of in the panhandle of Florida. It’s been an interesting journey cosplaying because in my town there wasn’t and still isn’t an Anime Club in high school so I’ve always just done my own thing.
